I have been nominated for the Seven Things About Me by Jackie at Change for better me Thank you Jackie. Jackie actually nominated me a few days ago, but life has been so busy I haven’t had time to respond until now. In addition to Jackie’s blog Change for a better me, also check out her writing blog. Her stories are wonderful, click here to view her stories.
The rules are simple enough:
- Thank and link back to the person who nominated you.
- List seven things about yourself. It can be anything.
- Nominate seven other people
Coming up with seven things about myself feels daunting at this point. I feel like I have shared so much about myself that I have very little left to share, but here it goes.
- I grew up hating vegetables, today it amazes people to see I am a vegetarian.
- I don’t feel as if I am getting older until my son who turned 28 this month reminds me he’s almost 30. Where did the years go to?
- My favorite food, which I can no longer get, was lasagna made by my grandmother’s best friend who used a recipe her husband brought with him from Italy. Actually, I craved it so much when pregnant with my first child (nope no ice cream or pickles that could easily come from the store) that she immediately made me a very large pan which when frozen in meal-sized packages filled majority of the freezer.
- The one thing I am asked to make for friends and family is pepperoni balls, but I hate the taste of pepperoni.
- In college I minored in computer science, but being before the age of Windows I am lost and need my son to do my computer repairs.
- I was raised believing I could do anything even with physical limitations. Right after my high school graduation I decided to book a lesson in skydiving, being the daredevil I was then, I arrived for my lesson and realized that if I couldn’t perform a landing properly it was really going to hurt when landing. It’s the only thing I ever chickened out on. I returned to my car, never even walking into the office to cancel my appointment for fear the instructor would talk me into trying it after all.
- I don’t believe a home is a home unless it’s filled with blankets, pillows, books, music and laughter. The only ingredients for happiness?
Now for the Seven people I am nominating, each is very different so I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.

You got closer to jumping out of a plane than I ever will. Reading about all of the things you do, most would say you don’t have limitations.
And your grandbabies are always so adorable.
I have learned to impose limitations due to how easily I get hurt lately, but I still have that streak which wants to rear it’s ugly head from time to time. Thank you, I am partial, but I think they are adorable too.
Thanks for the 7 Things nomination. I know what you mean about the computer. Are you old enough that you remember punch cards?
Yes, my mother knew how to use them. She was one of the first to get into hardware in the late 60′s early 70s but somehow the computer gene skipped me
I love learning new things about you my friend! It always amazes me when I remember your limitations because you have a soul and a spirit I so admire! And you can never have enough pics of grandkids, right?
Have I gone overboard with the kids pics? They are each so sweet in such different ways, and they beg to have their pictures taken. The sillier they look the better they like it. How I wish I could be like that in front of a camera. Thanks, but I really don’t think there is much to admire, I just refuse to live life in any way but fully. It was a result of being told I wouldn’t live long, therefore I wanted to experience everything I could while I could.
Hey there can never be enough cute pics of kids. It’s your blog, you put them pics on there all you want. I love looking at their funny faces that they make.
Glad to hear I haven’t worn out my welcome with the kids pics
