Sharing the love Friday

I just returned from my annual Thanksgiving trip to my son’s home.  It is so amazing to see the leaps and bounds the little one makes in between our visits. While I miss so much of her life, today I was able to witness one of her firsts… the first time she said a new word.

I had a wonderful visit, even if my son’s favorite football team lost.  I hope you too had a great holiday.

One of my favorite things about visiting my son and his family is the time we have to talk.   Thursday night my daughter-in-law went to bed earlier than my son or I did so we had time to talk about his plans, where he is going with his career and personal things.  We have always been close and the distance makes it hard for us to have our heart-to-heart conversations on a more regular basis.

• This article I fould interesting from The Good Human. While this President is considered the poorest president in the world he’s not poor in his eyes.  This article reminded me that just because we have an opportunity to earn more, doesn’t mean we have to spend it on material things.
• Wholey Jeans post called Trust Me is worth checking out.  We can use a little reminder to reflect on how we view ourselves.
• How I got this far, gives a nice tutorial on how to avoid wrapping paper for small gifts.
• Intecoolochoberord shares how to make lovely crochet ornaments to add to your Christmas decor.
• The habits we form can help or hinder our lives.  Many habits we do so automatically we don’t even realize we are doing them.  Smart Living 365 shows you how to make your habits help your life.
• Are you looking to make less of an impact on the earth?  Caitlin shares ways to green your life you could pick from any area on her list and those little things will add up quickly.
• On Down to Earth Style I found a gorgeous kitchen island made from a piece of furniture in such poor shape it was sitting out for the trash.

• Do you like to crochet?  Check out this tutorial on how to make a round mandala from Winkie Flash
• Green Conduct has a great article on the simpler way to creating a greener future.
• Tegan at Baby Earth Blog shared her letter she wrote to show us how easy it is to write to our leaders and ask for changes to benefit the environment.
